ADOPT A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS
NSER's Students and Staff are sponsoring seven Christmas Families as part of the Early Intervention Program on the Miramichi "Adopt-a-Family". A notice with the families’ wishes has sent to each homeroom. We are looking forward to receiving any donations for our families over the next 2 weeks. If you would like specific information concerning your child’s family please contact the school.

NSER has been able to acquire three hours of ice time per week at the Sunny Corner Arena. Students in grades 8, 9, and 10 will be going skating as part of their Physical Education program. Skating will take place on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30 am and 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Students are asked to bring a pair of skates, a helmet, and dress appropriately. Mr. Wilson and Mr. Silliker will also be running an after school hockey program on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Players must wear full gear and there will be no body contact. This is open for students in grades 9-12.
NSER will be offering an Outdoor Education Club this year and as such is in need of equipment for students to use. We will be focusing mainly on the area of Fly Fishing and are looking for donations of old equipment (rods, reels, lines, flies, fly tying gear, etc.) that community members may not have use for. Donations can be dropped off at the school or picked up if you wish.
H1N1 Vaccinations Clinics scheduled to take place at NSER on November 4th 2009 have been postponed. They will be rescheduled on a date to be determined. Grade 7 students scheduled to go to NSEE will not be receiving their vaccination on the 4th.
Please contact Public Health if you have any questions.
Parents are asked to make sure consent forms are returned ASAP to the school.
Public Immunization Clinics at NSER will be held on November 28th and 29th from 10 am to 6pm.
During the weekend of May 29th-31st, students from North & South Esk Regional High attended an adventurous weekend of canoeing, portaging, fishing, and camping at the Kennedy Lakes. There were 19 selected students from grade 10, 11 and 12 which attended the trip. The students had all participated in the school’s canoeing program as part of the Physical Education curriculum.
On November 2, 2009, NSER launched its new website. District 16 has taken the initiative to create similarly styled web pages for all schools in the district. NSER is excited to begin this new venture and we hope parents/students take advantage of it to stay connected with the school. Parents can check the website regularly to see our latest news, look at student work, stay informed of extra-curricular activities, check homework, etc. Please check the site often to stay up to date on what's happening at NSER.
