The ASD-N Numeracy Team is making math fun for students with their Numeracy Christmas Contest, targeting grades K-5. Teachers and their classes have been challenged to post a Christmas math activity with the corresponding outcome/building block, such as the riddle Ms. Devereaux's K/1 class from Jacquet River School is working on in the photo. Each post will earn the class a chance to win an awesome prize for the classroom!

Superior Middle School staff and students in Bathurst are extending an invitation to the public to attend their upcoming Term 1 Exhibition, being held this Thursday, November 28th. The Exhibition will take place at the school on November 28th from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. and again from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., and will showcase all of the great work that SMS students are doing. This is a great opportunity to check out examples of the innovative learning taking place in ASD-N!

The ASD-N Literacy Leads have created a fun, festive reading challenge for November 25th to December 13th! Teachers and their classes have been invited to pick a fun reading challenge each day for twelve days and then check off the boxes on the registration form. Teachers will mail their sheet back to the Literacy Elves on December 13th, to enter into the chance to win a wonderful classroom gift. The registration form button can be found on the home page.

ASD-N is pleased to announce that the public portal for PowerSchool is now open. A letter is being sent home with students with the report card that gives a unique access ID and password that can be used by parents/guardians when creating the account. Once you receive the letter, please visit the following website to create the account:

Once created, parents/guardians will be able to access their child's attendance and report card marks.

Bonar Law Memorial High School and Eleanor W. Graham Middle School, both in Rexton, received a generous presentation from the Brewer Foundation on Tuesday morning at BLMS. Cheques were presented to each school in the amount of $15 000 to help each fund their vision for ending student hunger within their school.

On Saturday, September 28th, the Waterford Green in Miramichi was filled with students participating in the annual APEGNB Catapult Cup. They came decorated in school colours, dressed as robots and school mascots, and demonstrating their school spirit as they cheered at the top of their lungs. This year, a record number, 16 teams from all corners of ASD-N competed to win the coveted 4th annual Pumpkin Fling trophy and the cheque for $750.

Be sure to register your child in October, and you’ll receive information and invitations to be part of activities to support your child’s learning. We look forward to welcoming your child to kindergarten!
For ASD-N, registration will take place at your local school or online from October 15–18 for children who will turn five by December 31, 2020. Once you have completed the online registration visit your local school with proper documentation.

History has been made in Anglophone North School District, as the first permanent Mi'gmaq Grand Council Flag was dedicated and raised at a provincial school at Sugarloaf Senior High School in Campbellton on September 30th.
The flag raising was the result of many years of dedication and work, and the celebration inlcuded speeches from Superintendent Mark Donovan, Chief Darcy Gray, and SSHS Principal Michael O'Toole. A prayer was read by Grade 6 former Mi'gmaq immersion student Kylie Wilmot-Long. Elder Theresa Wilmot presided over the dedication and smudging.
