Interested in meeting kids from across Canada?  Want to learn more about health and medecine, science, politics, Canadian history or other issues that are important to Canadian youth? Encounters with Canada is a great opportunity to develop your personal and team work skills by spending a week in our nation's capital. It's not too late to register for Student for a Day. This is a great way to come to visit the college, meet students & faculty, and ask their questions! There are 2 more of these dates left until the end of the year for regular programs:
-          February 22nd (Feb 23rd for Early Childhood Education)
-          March 22nd (March 23rd for Early Childhood Education).

 Located at Saint Mary's University, this ten day camp that offers a hands-on imtroduction to the world of marine mammal conservation and research.  The dates for this camp are August 5-14 and students must apply by April 7,2017.  The cost per student is $1500.00.  For more information see Mrs. Ward-Cain.

“The New Brunswick Teen Apprentice Program (NBTAP) is recruiting Grade 10 and

11 students for Summer 2017 skilled trade pre-apprentice work opportunities with 

employers throughout New Brunswick. Applications will be accepted from February 

1 to March 17.

The Forum for Young Canadians is a civics education program for students 15-19 years old.  This week long program brings students together in Ottawa for an intensive academic experience.  Participants get the opportunity to meet with people involved in national politics and public affairs.  Sessions begin in February.  For more infomation or for an application, see Mrs. Ward-Cain or visit www.forum.ca.  Deadline for applications is January 20, 2017.

To register, students simply need to go tio the NBCC website, click on ‘’Future students’’ and ‘’Visit Us’’. http://nbcc.ca/future-students/visit-us/student-for-a-day . Our next date will be on January 18th for all of our programs, student simply need to register (cut off will be 5 days before activity), and come on the day of! This gives them a great opportunity to talk and ask questions to our students and instructors!

We Schools is an opportunity for students to transform the way they view their place in the world.  We Schools encourages young people to challenge apathy by awakening their spirit of volunteerism.  This year New Brunswick will be holding a First s Nations WE Day at the Currie Centre, UNB campus.  This event will be held on Wednesday, November 30th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  First Nations students, both on and off reserve, in Grades 8-12 are invited to attend.  For more information, please see Mrs. Ward-Cain.  Deadline for applications is Monday, November 14th.
