Bell Let’s Talk is an annual charitable program dedicated to the promotion and support of mental health across Canada. Since 2010, Bell has committed to donate at least $100 million to support a wide range of mental health organizations, large and small, from coast to coast focusing on anti-stigma, care and access, workplace mental health and research.
Each year NSER supports Bell Let's Talk and this year the students marked this event on Friday, February 2. Students were treated to hot chocolate and donuts and were asked to write messages of encouragement to their classmates as a way of starting off the semester on a positive note. These messages were posted around the school's lobby for all students to read:
"Just because mental health is a touchy subject doesn't' mean it shouldn't be touched."
"When 'I' turns to 'we" illness becomes wellness."
"Stay positive and happy, work hard and don't give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people!"
Thank you to all of our students for supporting Bell Let's Talk and for continuing to help spread the word about important issues.
