Catapult Building in Science Classes

Posted: October 25, 2017

As a project for science all of the grade 7, 8, 9 and 10 students were instructed to build a catapult.  We had limited supplies – only using cardboard, duct tape and a bungee cord.  There was only a mere 3 days to complete this task, which proved to be quiet difficult.  As the competition drew nearer the more hurried peoples efforts got.  Most students managed to have theirs done in time before the big day.  When competition day arrived it was a chance to see all the unique designs and structures people had thought of.  There were smiles plastered on every face whether you did or didn’t win a prize.  It was a great way to spend the morning with educational benefits too.  It taught us to be resourceful, taking small ordinary things and making them great!
