Students had been working with the 4 factors that can affect a reaction rate.  In this activity, the goal was to adjust two of these factors; temperature and surface area to make the cap of a 35mm film canister pop off at exactly 10 seconds.Students were given two Alka Seltzer tablets and could conduct as many test runs as they wanted, provided they retained enough Alka Seltzer for the final run.
