October 16: The group visited two shopping areas in Shenzhen. One was in an area called Luohu  ( Lowhoo) and the other in an area called Dao Mein (Dow min).  The Luohu stores are somewhat like western shopping malls but the each store would be smaller than the Guidance area at our school.  There are 6 floors with literally hundreds of different shops per floor. Many westerners and people from outside of China come to Luohu to shop. The Dao Min area caters more to the Chinese nationals and the majority of the stores are outside storefronts.  Thousands of people congegrate in both of these shopping areas on any given day. At night we travelled to Shekou, which is an English "ex-pats" area of Shenzhen.  Many of the people in Shekou speak English very well and the food is more western. October 17:Today we travelled by bus about 90min to a small part of the city called DaFen, where artists gather to paint and sell their work.  There are a dozen or so cross streets with hundreds of shops that sell mostly oil paintings and some traditional Chinese art work as well as a few jewellry and craft stores.  A canvas that sells for $400 in Canada can be purchased in DaFen for about $30.   Today's Bonus Questions.1) What are three names for the currency used in China?2) What does the term 'ex-pat' mean?
