Today Juxia and I went to a park called Splendid China.  Think of King's Landing but covering a 2000 year period of Chinese culture and history.  Each of this countries nationalities are represented by their own cultural area of the park.  Dwellings, costumed re-enacters, music and foods are part of the display.  The park is designed so that even the geographical features are typical of that part of China. We also attended three shows that occur daily.  The first, "Courageous Dynasty", speaks of a warfare legend in Chinese history and how the hero with only 40,000 military, defeated the Ming Dynasty military that was 400,000 strong.  The second show, "Oriental Apparel" consists of five acts; Northern Wind, Southern Flowers, Western Snow, Eastern Moon and National Splendor, it demonstrates colourful national costumes and Chinese ancient royalty dresses.  The last show, "Dancing with the Dragon and the Phoenix", the actors and dancers use modern concepts and art forms to bring ancient China to life throught their reinterpretation of traditional Chinese folk dances, opera, magic and lantern shows.   Bonus Questions!1)  What years did the Ming Dynasty rule in China?2)  What 'year' is it on the Chinese calendar? What is the significance of these years?
