Posted: April 20, 2020

Please email Mr. Silliker (dax.silliker@nbed.nb.ca) by April 25th, 2020 if you wish to sign up to complete the requirments for Credit in English and History 112

Credit requirements for History 112 and English 112

In order to receive credit for the above courses, students must complete a series of assignments and submit them to Mr. Silliker (via email or through our class Office 365 Team site)

A brief overview of requirements:

For History 112, you will need to complete a MLA format formal research paper (will vary in length 1000-2000+ words) for the following units.  The outlines will be put on our Teams site or can be emailed directly to you once we get green light to begin credit work.

-Industrial Revolution

-World War I

-Totalitarianism and WWII

-The Cold War

For English 112, you will be completing a Writing Folder which requires 14 different pieces (Approx 300-400 words each) to be passed in.  There will be a series of topics to pick from to complete these different forms of writing.  The Writing Folder outline will be put on our Teams site or can be emailed directly to you once we get green light to begin credit work.

*The English and History 112 courses have been combined this semester to achieve required outcomes.  As such, you must complete all requirements for both courses and will be awarded credit for both classes provided the quality of your work is acceptable.  This will complete our Reading/Viewing and Writing/Representing Outcomes, Speaking/Listening have already been assessed during our time together this year.

Please note that this will require more time than the 2.5-3 suggested hours per course each week.  Rightfully so of course because this will give you credit and not just enrolled.  If you have questions about this email me.
