To All North & South Esk Regional High School Students: WELCOME!   Welcome to New Staff Members: Mr. Kirk Matheson Mr. Robert Bell Mrs. Lynn Carney Ms. Chantal Lavigne Mrs. Tammy Gouchie Mr. Michael Sonier Mr. Jeff Wilson   First Day for new Grade 7 students only—Tuesday, September 6th, 2011First Day for Grades 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 students—Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 On Sept 7th, students should report to the following area at 8:25 for homeroom assignment: Main Lobby New Students: Families new to the area are advised that a School Entry permit is required from our District Office.  Call 778-6075 for further information.  Parents of NSER students who require more information may call the school between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 836-7001.  Principal: K. Matheson, Vice-Principal: D. Mutch, Guidance Counsellor:  S. Ward-Cain   Student Council Fees: This fee is $20 for each student.  The fee includes a Student Identification Card and Student Handbook.  Fees will be collected by homeroom teachers during the first few days.  A receipt will be issued to each student.  Students must pay a student fee in order to participate in clubs or sports, and to attend school dances.Locks: Locks are sold to Grade 7 students in homeroom, and in the office for all other students, at a cost of $10.00Attendance: Regular attendance is mandatory for all students enrolled in public schools.  The school has an Auto-Dialer system which contacts the home in the event that a student has missed one or more classes during the day.  If a student exceeds 12 days in a semester a case conference will be held with the student and his/her parent or guardian to prepare an Attendance Improvement Plan.Tobacco Free: NSER is a tobacco free environment.  Smoking is not permitted on the property.  Maps will be posted and available to indicate our “Tobacco Free Zone”.Meet and Greet/Corn Boil: A meet and greet  and Corn Boil will be held on Thursday, September 15th,2011 at 6:30 p.m.  This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and be informed of expectations.  Home & School Association discussion and PSSC elections will be held at this time.We look forward to student, parent and community support for a successful year for all students attending NSER.
