The Local Scholarship application was sent to graduates by email on May 7th.  The deadline to apply was May 29th.  Given the current situation with grads not attending school face-to-face, the deadline to apply has been extended until Friday, June 5th.  If you have not received the application by email, please contact Mrs. Pitre @ carla.pitre@nbed.nb.ca and she will ensure you receive it.

Although the student loan information sessions in New Brunswick high schools have been cancelled, they have posted the presentation slides on their website: www.studentaid.gnb.ca.

The link is titled: Presentation – Single dependent students and can found on the home page directly under “Information guide”.

If students have questions they should contact the toll free teleservices number at 1-800-667-5626.

 

It’s looking like the new 2020/2021 loan year applications will be available in early June.

Could all grads please send a picture (grad picture if possible) and a confirmation of acceptance to their post-secondary school, as well as any notice of scholarships/bursaries to Mrs. Pitre so she can upload the information onto our Facebook webpage? You can email her at carla.pitre@nbed.nb.ca.  

The New Brunswick Public Colleges Entrance Scholarship is available for this academic year 2020-2021 for students who would like to attend the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB), the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) and the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC).

 

You can now apply by completing the fillable Scholarship Application Form.  After entering your information, you need to do a “Save As”  unto your computer (suggestion: add your name and date to the filename, for example 2020-04-23-NBPCES-BEPACPNB-ARSENEAULT,BERTHE.pdf). Please submit your application by email to your high school Guidance Counsellor at carla.pitre@nbed.nb.ca by May 27 for review. Thereafter, it will be forwarded on to NBCC by June 6 for the final decision. 

UP-DATE DEADLINE EXTENSION to APRIL 30, 2020.  Please see application attached.

Bursary Criteria: 1. Preference given to residents of New Brunswick, and then Atlantic Canada, who have graduated from a secondary high school in the province within last 12 months; 2. Bursaries will be awarded based on financial need and personal circumstances; 3. Students must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program of study at UNB 4. Renewal is based on maintaining good academic standing (minimum assessment year GPA of 2.0); 5. Recipient must commit to work with at least one mentor in an extracurricular activity throughout their program of study; 6. Bursaries awarded are to be applied against tuition and ancillary fees.

 A list of scholarships (over $850,000) that are available to students through Scholartree.  Each one has it's own requirements.  Look through the list and see what may pertain to you.

The Newcastle Rotary Club Charitable Trust is accepting applications for the annual memorial scholarship. The scholarship, in the amount of $3500, is awarded annually and graduating students from Miramichi Valley High School, North and South Esk Regional High School and Carrefour Beausoleil are eligible to apply. The Scholarship award criteria are modeled on the mission and values of Rotary. Applicants who demonstrate service and commitment to school and to community, solid academic achievement in high school, participation and achievement in athletic, arts and/or cultural activities and leadership skills will be considered favorably.

 

Applicants must be applying to enroll in a post-secondary institution to start Fall term 2020 to study full time in any field. Applications must be postmarked by July 14, 2020. Application forms will be available from the Principal and Guidance Offices at the 3 schools or it can be downloaded below.

The 2020 Memorial Scholarship will honor the late Charlie Hubbard.
