The Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to accept film entries for the second annual Kin Film Festival.  All School District 16 students are invited to participate.  Films can be submitted in one of two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category (The Communities Greatest Need).  The top 10 films in each category will be screened on May 12th, 2012 at Miramichi Empire Studio 5.  Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for the winners in each category.

NSER is proud to announce that we will be host for the 2012 School District 16 Science Fair.  The fair will take place in the school gymnasium on Thursday, March 29 from 9:00am-12:00pm.  All are welcome!

Congratulations to the male staff of NSER who defeated the male student team in this year's Campbell Cup.  Under the leadership of Mr. Jeff Wilson, the male staff defeated the students 9-1 and will house the Campbell Cup trophy for the next year!  Congratulations and thank you to all!

During Winter Carnival week, our student council had many fun activities planned during noon hour and in the evening.  This year there were 7 teams consisting of 13 members who competed to be the winning team during NSER's 2012 Winter Carnival.  During the Campbell Cup, Mrs. Gouchie's team, The Thunder Cats were named the winning team.  Thank you to all students and staff who participated.  We cannot wait until next year!  Go Cobra's, Go!!!!!

On Monday, Feb. 27, NSER held its Winter Carnival Pageant.  NSER would like to thank out over 400 guests and pageant contestants for a very memorable evening.  A huge thank you goes out to Ms. Chantal Lavigne and Mrs. Shelley Ward-Cain for all of their hard work in organizing this year's pageant.  To all of the contestants, congratulations on a job well done! NSER's Afterschool Drama Club presents Thorton Wilder's "Our Town" on December 13th and 14th at 7pm. The play, set in turn of the century America, explores the lives of people through three aspects of the human experience: daily life, love and marriage, and death/loss. The cost is $5 at the door.
