This year’s Queen Pageant will be held on Tuesday, February 23, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Ten young ladies will be competing for the title of N.S.E.R. Winter Carnival Queen 2010: Jenna Matchett, Adrienne Somers, Lana Levi, Kari Matchett, Rebecca Baisley, Kaitlin Ettinger, Jerrika Matchett, Nakita Somers, Andrea Curtis, and Rebecca McCormack.
The students and staff joined with the Miramichi Early Intervention Program and adopted seven needy families.
Students and staff worked vigilantly to raise money to provide these families with a great Christmas.
This was the seventh year NSER participated in this program.
The students raised a grand total of $6,500.00 and had fun shopping, and wrapping presents to present to the Intervention workers on December 17th.
The students showed great enthusiasm and compassion for these families.

It's that time of year again at NSER and the halls are filled with excitement. With Christmas break fast approaching, the students are busy with competitions and fundraising activities all week long. "Down Candy Cane Lane", our Christmas Formal, happend on December 4th and was enjoyed by all students in attendance. The Activities Committee put many long hours in to getting everything ready and everyone danced the night away. A huge Thank You goes out to all those who assisted with this dance. ADOPT A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS
NSER's Students and Staff are sponsoring seven Christmas Families as part of the Early Intervention Program on the Miramichi "Adopt-a-Family". A notice with the families’ wishes has sent to each homeroom. We are looking forward to receiving any donations for our families over the next 2 weeks. If you would like specific information concerning your child’s family please contact the school.
Grade 7 Family - 1 Adult (Mom - age 23) / 1 Child (Boy - age 2)
NSER has been able to acquire three hours of ice time per week at the Sunny Corner Arena. Students in grades 8, 9, and 10 will be going skating as part of their Physical Education program. Skating will take place on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30 am and 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Students are asked to bring a pair of skates, a helmet, and dress appropriately. Mr. Wilson and Mr. Silliker will also be running an after school hockey program on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Players must wear full gear and there will be no body contact. This is open for students in grades 9-12.
H1N1 Immunization for grades 7 and 8 only will be held on Monday, Nov. 9 in the morning. Grades 9 to 12 will be at a later date. Please contact Public Health if you have any questions. Tel. 778-6102.
NSER will utilize Synrevoice this year to inform parents about school announcements and when students have missed classes. Please check your phone regularly for messages from the school.
NSER will be offering an Outdoor Education Club this year and as such is in need of equipment for students to use. We will be focusing mainly on the area of Fly Fishing and are looking for donations of old equipment (rods, reels, lines, flies, fly tying gear, etc.) that community members may not have use for. Donations can be dropped off at the school or picked up if you wish.
