It is Winter Carnival Week @ NSER. We will be having theme days this week and a school dance on Thursday. One of the biggest hurdles for anyone suffering from mental illness is overcoming the stigma attached to it. The annual Bell Let’s Talk awareness campaign and Day is driving the national conversation to help reduce this stigma and promote awareness and understanding and talking is an important first step towards lasting change. NSER and Miramichi Community Food Bank Awarded $50,000 News Release Education and Early Childhood Development Tourism, Heritage and Culture Canada 150 High School Legacy project recipients announced.
FREDERICTON (GNB) – Funding grants totaling $500,000 have been awarded to eight high schools as part of the Canada 150 High School Legacy project.
WHOOP WHOOP COBRAS!!! NSER recently completed in Chatter High – an online platform where students and their families talk about students’ future educational and career plans. NSER finished 2nd in the NB Chatter High competition, winning $350 for our school. We finished 1st in Canada’s Most informed school, winning $1000.
NSER is competing in Chatter High - a post-secondary and career exploration online competition. The goal of Chatter High is to get kids talking about their future. NSER is competing against other schools in NB and we are currently in 3rd place in our division, and in 2nd place in the Canada's Most Informed School division. . Cash prizes can be won in both divisions! Students, staff, alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends can all help earn points for our school. As a project for science all of the grade 7, 8, 9 and 10 students were instructed to build a catapult. We had limited supplies – only using cardboard, duct tape and a bungee cord. There was only a mere 3 days to complete this task, which proved to be quiet difficult. As the competition drew nearer the more hurried peoples efforts got. Most students managed to have theirs done in time before the big day. When competition day arrived it was a chance to see all the unique designs and structures people had thought of. NSER Safe Grad Students will be hosting a Haunted House @ NSER on Friday, October 27th. The cost is $5 per person and all money raised will be in support of the 2018 Graduation Class.
Fraidy cat hours are from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and the Fearless hours are from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.
