The students and staff of NSER marked Orange Shirt day on Friday, September 29th. This day commemorates children who did, and did not, survive the Residential Schools system in Canada. This day signifies a day of remembrance, but also a day to affirm that "Every Child Matters" and the commitment to ensure a better future for all children.
On Thursday, September 21, NSER students and staff participated in our Walk-A-Thon, walking 10.5 kilometers and raising $9,000! Thank you to all who supported our school by making a donation. A special thank you to local businesses for their generous support that helped make this fundraiser such a success - Beaudet Motors Ltd. and R. Tozer Construction Ltd.
Grade 7 students will begin on Tuesday, September 5th. This is a great chance to meet your teachers, find your classes and become familiar with NSER. Lunch will be provided.
Students in Grades 8-12 begin classes on Wednesday, September 6th. Homerooms will be posted in the lobby and students will receive their schedules once in homeroom.
In June NSER Celebrated their 65th Anniversary and we were very pleased to have received new display cabinets in our Lobby. Mr. Bill Tozer and Mr. Veryl Tozer worked tirelessly for several weeks to make beautiful cabinets that would hold years of our schools heritage.
The Grade 12 Theatre Arts Class will present the Musical "Back to the 80's" beginning on Monday, June 5th @ 7:00 pm. The show will also be preformed Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7. Admission is $5 each at the door. For more informaiton please contact the school @ 836-7000
The first ever NSER Athletics Banquet was held here on May 25. Our guest speaker, Luke Couture, is currently a RBC Olympian training in the sport of badminton. He delivered a very positive, inspiring message to our students and encouraged them to live their dreams and work hard for whatever they wished to achieve. Following a delicious meal, the presentation of awards saw the recognition of our student athletes, teams and their coaches.
We are very pleased to announce that several of our after school drama students received awards at the Drama Festival in Fredericton. Congratulations everyone - what a great job! Go Cobras!
