Week 1 of home learning will focus on solving problems with measurement using the Imperial and SI  systems .  Lesson 1 introduces you to the Imperial Measurement system and conversions. Lesson 2 gives examples of conversion between the two measurement systems. Please go through Lesson 1 and 2 then complete the 2 worksheets on unit conversions. When you have a good understanding of unit conversions proceed to the Lesson 1 & 2 assignment. Included also with the documents is a formula/conversion sheet. This will be needed for the remainder of the course. You will find extra practice questions in the textbook cited in the lesson if you are having difficulty with the assignment.

Week 1 of home learning will focus on multiplying polynomials.  Lesson 1 contains explanations and examples of how to multiply binomials.  Lesson 2 develops the idea of multiplying polynomials further to include trinomials. Please go through Lesson 1 then complete the worksheet on multiplying binomials. When you have a good understanding of binomial multiplication continue on to Lesson 2 and complete the worksheet on polynomial multiplication . You will find extra practice questions in the textbook cited in the lesson if you are having difficulty with the assignment. A web link for the textbook is also provided.

Week 1 of home learning will focus on solving equations.  We will be using Module 6.  There is a copy of this on the web page if you don’t have a paper copy. Please go through Focus 1 in the module and complete assignment 6.1. You will find extra practice questions in the textbook cited in the module if you are having difficulty with the assignment. A web link for the textbook is also provided.

If you have already progressed beyond this point, continue working in the module you are using and do the assignments that are cited in the module. Module 7 is also posted on the web page.

Welcome back grade 11 students!

 Over the next few months we will try to cover the remaining outcomes of the course.  This new way of learning will be challenging for us all. By working together we can overcome the challenges and be successful in achieving goals beneficial to you as you move into grade 12 and after graduation.

Starting this week, and moving forward from then, I will be posting materials from Financial & Workplace 11 on my teacher web page.  Materials will include lessons, assignments , practice questions from the textbook and assignment solutions.  I am always available to answer any questions you may have.  My e-mail is karen.glynn@nbed.nb.ca.  I look forward to hearing from you!
